My Campus Life is One of a Kind
-
Being a transfer student at National University of Tainan, my campus life is one of a kind. Although it seems like I’m the luckiest girl in the world, no one could ever realize how much it has taken to acquire an outstanding outcome. It was an extremely lonely experience for a freshman to overcome the homesickness as well as to adapt to the new environment. It was the exercise that rescued me from such circumstances and got me distracted from the sentimentality. Therefore, I took part in the varsity badminton team. Not only did exercise make me feel more relaxed but give me the ability to manage time well so as to enrich myself. In addition, playing badminton even developed my perseverance since one should always make every effort to keep the shot alive until the shuttlecock falls to the ground, which coincides with the key to success—never give up. At that time, the only thing I could focus on was to make good use of time and to cherish every second.
I woke up at seven thirty every day to achieve the well-planned goal, part of which was to gain knowledge of business and management as much as I could. Besides, learning a foreign language is a significant factor in expanding my horizons. Thus I signed up for an Indonesian course. Being more localized is an approach to delve deeply into the culture in South East Asia. Accordingly, I have no choice but to speak English while making friends with overseas students, which betters my oral competence even if I have a chance of going abroad in the future. Furthermore, communicating with people that have distinct opinions and perspectives builds up a global vision and enhances my competitiveness. On the one hand, my freshman period was extremely tough, but on the other hand, I learned how to treasure and live for every moment I had.
Raising expectations in the sophomore period, I made up my mind to take part in more extracurricular activities to change the monotonous life with studying only. Apart from dedicating myself to school work, I took a part-time job examining the elementary students' English level by making phone calls. It compelled me to be more patient no matter how many times I had to say and constructively guide them to answer correctly step by step. As the students could finally make accurate responses, I felt a sense of accomplishment. As time went by, I was motivated by their improvement to become a better teacher. Nevertheless, multitasking, such as studies, the badminton team and the part-time job, is an unprecedented challenge for me. Therefore, I need to reschedule my time accordingly.
Afterward, in order to apply for a master's degree, I plan to be proposed for the College Student Research Creativity Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology. I will refer to multiple kinds of literary works and ask the dissertation director for help. Besides, participating in a commercial competition is an indispensable experience to improve my competence. Not only can it make me gain a deeper understanding, but it also can make me a better team player. I once had a group presentation about introducing the Walt Disney Company, we bounced ideas off each other politely instead of stepping on teammates' toes. During the process, we have improved our communication skills as well as our cooperation abilities.
In the junior period, I plan to apply for the exchange student identity to English-speaking countries or universities in Japan. The reason I'm interested in exchanging to Western countries is that the environment will make my accent sound more like an English native speaker. As for the Japanese university is that when comparing English-speaking countries to Japan, I prefer Japan's culture to western's. No matter which country I will go to, being an exchange student needs not only the language ability but also the interpersonal skills. Trying to be more independent is another achievement to reach since I'm a university student. What's more, my dream from childhood has been to make friends with people from different countries. As the result, I can travel around the world with them instead of a tour guide. Without them, I may not be able to explore the local secret attractions.
In the last period of university, senior, there are two plans in my schedule. One is putting all efforts into the internship opportunities, which not only can enrich my experience but also get a taste of being in the workplace beforehand. The other one is applying for a master's degree at home and abroad. As far as I am concerned, even though studying abroad is compared to a fairy tale, I will try the whole bag of tricks to fulfill it.
Taiwanese students categorize three must-selected course credits during campus life. One is school works, which means to successfully graduate from the university. In my opinion, there's no doubt that I have the confidence to complete all the course credits. Next, the second must-selected course credit is to join the club. I'm now a team member of the varsity badminton team. That is, I have gotten the credit. Last but not least, the third required subject is the love lesson, the state now is "Everything is going on, but don’t give up trying." As the result, try to step outside of your comfort zone and expand your network.
University is a small society, where you can be acquainted with various kinds of people. Making friends is not as simple as what makes sense during high school life. In addition, students need to take responsibility for themselves. Although it seems to be tremendous pressure, the campus life is freer. Four years of the university is neither too much nor too little and time waits for no one. Whether it is meaningful depends on how you arrange your time. In a nutshell, I cherish the campus life and will make it the most one of a kind.

Greater than Greatest
“I want to be a great guy,” I told my mother after indulging myself in aimless relaxation, idling during the three years in senior high school. It was the moment I realized I had failed the people, parents, teachers, friends, and especially myself, by wasting time on doing nothing meaningful that I made myself a simple promise: Being a great person no matter how many obstacles would be there waiting for me. The greatness I’m talking about here is identical to having significant influence over the world, as Elon Mask in Tesla. Is this an impractical ambition for a mediocre guy like me? As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t matter at all. As the proverb says, “If you dream, dream big”. In order to achieve my goal, I’ve drawn up the plans for these four years in college, which I regarded as the most important period for me to ameliorate my life.
First of all, in terms of perfectly developing my professional abilities, I must be wholly acquainted with every single textbook I have. On one hand, all the sentences from the authors, who without a doubt possess major academic status in the areas they specialize in, were elaborately written under their purposes. As a result, the more details I neglect, the less benefit I obtain. On the other hand, by means of the enhancement of the familiarity with the textbooks, my foundation of knowledge will be established solidly, not to mention the importance of the bases toward electrical engineering, which I major in. With the previous experience of studying, I thoroughly understand why cultivating daily learning habits is indispensable. With perseverance, I force myself to study even just a little bit every day rather than try to catch up with the progress teachers have taught exclusively when the exams are about to come. I desire to be an extremely outstanding person in technology, and it is definitely necessary to become accustomed to acquiring the information at all times. Via the help of the above-mentioned learning attitude, I will readily get the excellent result of grades, and the chance to successfully enroll in ideal graduate school will be high in the meantime.
In the second place, during the college I won’t let go of any opportunity to practice the experiments, especially those in which hands play a vital role. Although demands from brains account for vast majority of the technological tasks nowadays, the flexibility of limbs is assuredly essential when it comes to carrying out the projects, such as building robots or operating scientific instruments. Hence, I will make good use of the apparatuses the college offers, consult every available professor about the experimental skills, and participate in as many courses that contain technological practices as possible, including the courses outside the campus. Moreover, if there are competition held, I will sign up for them without hesitation. A game can prompt me to prepare for what I need so as to surpass other contestants. It goes without saying that I will gain considerable experience and be more adept in properly utilizing everything I’ve learned so far even if I don’t win any prizes. All I care about is how much I should absorb to reach my ultimate prospect.
Next, nonetheless, my campus life should not merely be filled up with the sea of career-chasing training. I will engage in exercising my body by taking part in any kind of sports occasionally, such as my favorite one: Basketball. To some degree my clumsy legs and arms may hinder me in the future since any infinitesimal mistake can lead to gigantic defects while coding or manipulating some intricate machines. In consequence, the profit of sports is obvious. Despite the fact that it may reduce the time for studying, I still view it as the compulsory work to do, because it’s my duty to stay healthy. Without health, there is nothing I can do even if I’m as rich as Bill Gates. Without health, I will be severely distracted from my final goal, for the pain will totally ruin my concentration, sabotaging my mental health. Maintaining the best physical condition is equivalent to taking good care of myself, which is my parents’ largest hope. Besides, doing sports can get rid of people’s impression that I’m just a guy who reads. Likewise, I will take advantage of the courts in the college, not stopping until I attain enough amount of motion.
Needless to say, connections are something that must not be forgotten especially by a student away from hometown. There will be a large number of possibilities if I expand my connections. For instance, the enterprises founded by a group of brilliant people are countless. From my standpoint, not only the scale of connections but the depth of connections is what I yearn to reinforce. Wholehearted, I will exert my utmost to treat everybody I meet with a great deal of enthusiasm whether they’re from the same college or not. As long as we’re eighteen, the range of making friends isn’t supposed to be limited simply within the campus. Chances will not just come by coincidence. I believe they’re the outcomes for what I’ve gone through beforehand. What’s more, if I’m lucky to encounter my girlfriend, or even future wife, I’ll save my time of having a blind date, which I think is the least way to know my spouse. Therefore, either becoming a member of clubs or joining several activities that involve numerous people is in my college plans. In such a complicated era, everyone needs friends, doesn’t they?
Last but definitely not the least, I want to improve my courage and confidence, and at the same time retain my genuine heart, staying true to myself. There are so many methods to foster my courage. Compelling myself to be better is one way, delivering an oral presentation in front of crowds is another way, and attempting to contact with something unfamiliar is also a way. In my four years in college, I’ll hold on to those ways. As I get much courage and confidence, I’ll turn back to search my genuine heart, which means I won’t lose in pride. I’ll keep the place where I’m from in mind when having plenty of power or receiving lots of compliment as if looking at the foot of the mountain when I reach the peak. Correspondingly, I won’t give up on my target when I fall downward to the bottom. Nothing can change me except myself. No one can dominate my life except myself. Campus life may have a crucial impact on all the people in the college, and I won’t allow my essence be seriously altered by the environment. It doesn’t mean, nevertheless, that I’ll be stubborn like a stationary boulder. On the contrary, it means I’ll absorb things happening around me as though a sponge soaks up the water, and I’ll convert myself in appropriate moments, but these are all from my own will. College, in my opinions, is the most helpful place to challenge if we forfeit our original characteristic in our deepest heart before entering the workforce.
Not until I graduated from the senior high school did I completely perceive how tremendous the gap between me and those who are apparently superior. An awkward-bodied, lazy, dull-looking, not clever man who is afraid of dramatic change is what I think of myself as. Yet at present my mind becomes fully mature. Willingly facing all the shortcomings, I’ll do better than the best to improve myself so as to fulfill my expectation not only in technology but also in all fields that I’m capable of no matter how hard it is. Only enriching myself with worthwhile things in my campus life will I truly look forward to see what I’ll turn into after these four years. To draw a conclusion, I’m fully aware that I won’t be willing to just stay in a company as a good employee forever. Step by step, I’ll move forward to the summit of the world. Neither the being a great guy nor being the greatest guy in the world is my final goal now. Unwaveringly determined, I want to be a greater than the greatest person in the world.

Three Abilities to Promote My Growth
College is a very important period of personality remodeling, and it is also the last place where you can make bold attempts and mistakes before entering the society. In college, we need to learn to manage ourselves, be responsible for our future, explore our interests and plan our time. As a matter of fact, we need to keep exploring and make decisions. And as a junior, I have experienced all kinds of growth, among which I am most proud that I have learned to set goals, be self-disciplined and try all kinds of things constantly.
As the saying goes, "Life without a goal is like sailing without a compass." In college, you can have your own choices and plans, and your free time depends entirely on yourself. However, if you have no goals, you will have no motivation and will be decadent. When I was a freshman, I planned to take the postgraduate entrance examination, so I made my own learning goals and plans. However, it is not enough to have goals. You still need to carry them out. During that time, self-discipline is necessary, and it was also the longest challenge that I have overcome. I remember when I was a freshman, I often had invisible pressure, because I couldn’t discipline myself, as if I was just pretending to work hard. However, the current situation was that I couldn’t keep up with my inner desire for pleasure, so I was so anxious, panicked and uneasy. In fact, self-discipline is closely related to your goal. After some time that I finally figured out that some people can't stick to self-discipline for a long time because they don't have a clear goal, and they have made many plans for themselves because they think that people should work hard, and if they don't work hard, they will like a failure. But "life is like archery, and dreams are like arrows. If there is no arrow, it is meaningless to pull the bow every day." If you never know what your real purpose is, you have no motivation, and it is easy to give up. In my opinion, people should seriously set a goal for themselves, and let motivation drive you, instead of anxiety and self-blame. When you wake up every day with dreams instead of alarm clocks, you will start to get motivated.
So, how to find the motive force of self-discipline? I think we should first clearly know what the goal is and what changes it can bring to you. Then subdivide the goal, don't try to achieve it quickly, but move forward like a ladder, in case you would give up easily. You don't need to be too mechanical or too perfectionist in your plan. If something goes wrong, just calm down. Don't blame yourself. Go on. Then, face your desire directly, and embody it. Never feel sorry for your desires. If it is put at the right time, actually it can become the driving force for your progress. Last year, for example, I wanted to take the TOEIC exam. I knew that this would be an important proof of my English ability in future work. At the same time, I also wanted to know how well my English ability was. But the biggest problem that prevented me from being self-disciplined was that I liked traveling very much and it took me some time. After thought, I made a plan. First predicted the time that I could practice before the test date, and advanced several days in case I couldn't finish the training on time. Then wrote down every part in the simulation workbook, and I would finish it on the same day. Every time I finished writing five parts, I would satisfy my wish to go out to travel once. According to this arrangement, I succeeded in getting enough practice the day before the exam. Sometimes I didn't finish the topic on time, but I had regular and concrete plans, which let me know how much time and energy I should spend.
In fact, every goal doesn't have to be big, but what is frightening is that people set boundaries for themselves. But as a saying goes: "Don't give up something just because you think you can't do it!" This has influenced me and gave me the courage to set up more ideals for myself. Whether attending external courses, challenging various competitions or teaching students of all ages by part-time tutors, all kinds of attempts and small ideas in my mind have inspired me to turn it into one of my goals and make continuous efforts to achieve it. In college, you have the opportunities to keep trying and make mistakes. It's painful to fail, but I think it's more regrettable not to try. Only by trying, will you know what you like and even what you are good at. I remember taking part in an oral presentation contest once. At first, I was very afraid that I would not win the prize, that I was too nervous to forget my words, that other people's speeches were much better than mine, and that I would fail. But the heart of trying made me have enough courage to sign up for the competition. I kept telling myself it's okay to fail. At least I tried. I could know where my abilities were. After preparation and practices, well, I got the second place that day. Although I forgot some words, the judges liked my report very much, and praised me for my clear speech and good time control ability. If I hadn't forgotten some words, I could have been the first. This was completely beyond my expectation, and I am glad to choose to try. After that, in order to improve my reporting ability, I signed up for the briefing course more actively. Trying is like exploring, because if you try something, you are trying to discover the secret of its success.
With these abilities, I think they make me to control myself better, promote my growth and shine more brightly.

My Campus Life
Dreaming like a wonderland, life in college has always been my aim during those time while struggling among exams and books in senior high. But beyond that, I have had a bigger dream, of which I want to be a teacher in the future. Since then, I have tried my best to grab the chance to enter college as a scholarship student, for which I can be a formal teacher right after my graduation. And that is why I choose to enter National University of Tainan with the hope of becoming a teacher.
Life is funny, but life is also fun. As a student of usually being top three of the class in senior high school, it was totally a different world for me to have a major in drama, totally different. A LOT. First, I thought it would not far from just playing, acting, and having fun. It turned out that it was such a mistake. Majoring in drama was not a joke. Every professor was so diligent and dedicated to trying to teach us so many treasure knowledge and putting so much effort to let students gain quite lots of experiences of drama. We not only practice to act, but to write a play by our own selves, and we also admire so many different kinds of art, like contemporary art, traditional dramas, foreign kinds of drama, and even arts of all kinds. The biggest change of me being a drama major student is having the opportunity to have access to art, not just fine art, but also art that as trivial as a simple movement by an old man on the street.
I had trouble adjusting myself to my major from the beginning. But after three more years, I think I have the honor to say I am the drama-major student. Because I see the passion. I can feel my classmates’ strong attitude toward an actor or a director, even the designers of stage or music. Their enthusiasm is so apparent as me pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher. So we grow together, we smile together, we even shed out tears together while having a hard time planning on a drama play. I am so satisfied to have classmates like the ones I am having right now. They are the people accompanying me while fulfilling our own dreams.
Speaking of road to teacher, I think I have come through quite a lot. Owning to my scholarship, and not being an education major student, I have to take more classes than usual people. Most of the time, I have always been rush into somewhere to take courses, of which going through two different campuses in ten minutes was as simple as a piece of cake. And that is why I do not have much more time to spend with my classmates; however, I get a chance to meet new friends coming from other departments. I won’t say I don’t like to collaborate with other major students because they can bring some creativity as well. And knowing more people in campus helps me feel I am not alone.
The benefit of being a student in NUTN is that most of the teachers I have met are very willing to guide us in their own professions. And the school has also provided many opportunities if you want to polish yourself. So I have learned a few of how to bring up kids, how to truly listen and talk to them, and most importantly, how to raise yourself as a good teacher.
However, life is not just about pursuing dreams, not to mention is campus. Badminton is my second name. As an enthusiast of the sport, I entered school team since sophomore. In there, I play badminton, and I own a family. Because most of the members are boys, I feel like I have got a bunch of brothers or fathers in the team. Even when I feel sad about stuff happened in the school days, they comfort me in their ways. But interestingly, they blame on me or tease at me instead of saying warm words. I guess this is the “boys’ way” though. They don’t give much pressure to hope you feel better. They just make you safe or make you laugh letting you forget about the sadness even just for a short period of time. But for me, that is enough. Since life is mine, I need to figure out the problems by myself so as to become an adult. This is also what you need to face during your time in university. We learn to grow as an adult who will take full responsibility of themselves.
All in all, my major gives me a way to admire life in a different aspect, to have a tender heart to feel the world that has to offer. And it not only teaches me how to collaborate with people when we need to organize a drama presented to the audiences, but also encouraging me to keep on purchasing my dream of becoming a teacher, since we are all people struggling to find out our future way. And on the other hands, my interest of playing badminton helps me to know the creature called boy more. I can rely on them when I feel down. I can laugh back at them when they make fun of me. I also gain perseverance through the training because it can actually kill someone if you are not strong enough. The training and the couch are something I have doubted myself all the time why I enter the school team instead of just playing for fun in the department team. But, things seem better if you see them in the bright side.
The most treasure thing I have learned in my campus life is to figure out who I am and where I should go. It makes a whole lot different when you truly find out the way you are heading to. It enables you and make sure that you have something to carry on when you somehow lost yourself, which is certainly something normal and will probably happen to everyone else. Although my life in college was and is full of events, I won’t say that I have no regrets, such as not that good at maintaining a relationship with someone, or even making boyfriends. Some people might say that I have done my best for every task, while others may doubt and tell me I should go get a close relationship. But I guess thing will go its way. Since then, I enjoy my campus life, which means I don’t actually have to live under others’ expectations. Just live the life I want, and enjoy the very moment, which called the present. Life in college is a journey to explore the deeper me. And after finding out who I want to be, I run head to it. So what I want to say is thanks. Thanks the past me, and thanks for the present me, who live so hard to create a life for a better me.

My Campus Life
As the saying goes, each man is the architect of his own fate. We are afraid of being regarded as a strange loner by others, but each person is an independent individual. Therefore, pursuing the same as everyone else is a false illusion. I expect to be a sponge in my campus life, trying to learn all kinds of knowledge and skills, and cultivate my concern for society, then solve the problems in life.
Time flies, I have been majoring in education for two years. I am now a junior student. As time passed, some students began to do an internship at elementary schools. Some people squander their time and couldn't tell how much they had grown compared to freshmen. I believe that everyone has their own pace in their time zone. As long as the direction is right, we will always move forward regardless of speed. In my junior year, I also greeted the tail of the university with a busy schedule. In addition to diligently absorbing the relevant knowledge of the education major, I have obtained good results in the department. To familiarize the administrative operation of the school, and cultivate the ability of group cooperation, I also served as a class representative, a representative of the sex equality committee, a leader of the activities department in student association of education program, student councilor, and a captain of the student brigade. I take every opportunity to enrich my life because I know that chances are always reserved for those who are ready.
Because of my education major, I have many opportunities to meet people. I wanted to be a teacher in the past because I received many teachers' help in the process of studying. But with the participation of internships in these years, I like this career more from the bottom of my heart. In addition, seeing the smiles on the students' faces made me more motivated in my studies. What's more, teaching has become an interest of mine. During the winter and summer vacations every year, my friends always laugh at me: “You are either in the camp or on the way to the camp.” The experience of these camps has allowed me to continuously modify my teaching methods and make the outline of my educational concept more and more clear.
I am very grateful that no matter what challenges I encountered, I never gave up to chase my dreams. For example, although the covid-19 has disrupted the rhythm of many things, our enthusiasm for handling the camp will never be extinguished. This summer, we organized an online camp in Gather Town to provide students in remote areas with more learning opportunities. This experience allowed me to understand how to complete a class from the perspective of a teacher in the era of the covid-19. In addition to feeling the difficulty, I also got a lot of practical experience and learned how to respond and prepare. For me, this experience can help me have more ways to respond in the epidemic era, increase my remote teaching skills, and cultivate my future in the post-epidemic era to have more diversified teaching methods.
Looking back on the memories of campus life, Youth begins with folly and ends in repentance. In my memories, that relationship always reminds me of a transmutation. I am a person who is not good at severing and empathizing. Although it is undeniable that I have enjoyed it in love, I have also been hurt in love. I met a wonderful girl that summer, and we went through autumn and winter together. After a short period of eight months, I have never liked and hated myself at the same time. During this relationship, I learned to face my poor emotional handling and also learned to understand the needs of couples more considerately. Knowing that nothing can be changed, I will keep these changes in mind and hope to cherish the next Ms. Right. In addition, I want to thank my friends for planning travel and leisure activities with me, and then staying with me all the time, which confirms the sentence “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” Because of their company, I understand that the splendor of life does not necessarily depend on someone, nor does it depend on someone to become splendid. When we find our value, life will be full of surprises before we meet the one.
All in all, I am just an ordinary college student, sometimes happy and sometimes sad. The good news is that I always look up to the low point and learn from my mistakes. Therefore, the injuries I have suffered are not only the textbook for me but also the proof of the wonderful campus life. Perhaps the purpose of campus life is to let us continue to experience the feelings of confusion and to accept challenges in the process of these confusions. In college, I learned more about myself and learned more etiquette to get along with others. I realized that I am not only a student but also a citizen of this society.
Although the memories of college are not always pleasant, every moment is full of meaning. Many years later, I will forget the ranking of my freshman year, but I will always remember that I organized a camp with those partners. Hopefully, for the remaining half of campus life in the future, we can continue to have good memories with each other. Because each of our lives in our past. It is easy for people to forget today's happiness, but it takes a lifetime to forget some sadness. Finally, I want to encourage myself with one sentence. “One is always on a strange road, watching strange scenery and listening to strange music, then one day, you will find that the things you try hard to forget are already gone.” Never underestimate your worth of happiness! As long as we work hard to live our own life, we will encounter more happiness and forget more sadness.
